The Album

Silver Acoustics is a powerful reunion of four lifelong friends whose shared love of music has blossomed into something truly special. Blending heartfelt acoustic storytelling with electric vibrancy, their sound captures the raw emotions of life, love, loss, hope, and growth - with a fresh yet timeless energy that grabs hold and doesn't let go.

This isn't just a band, it's a musical journey decades in the making. Back in the late 1980's, Justin, Rob, Dale, and Ashley came together, bonded by their passion and friendship. Over the years, life's twists and turns led them down different paths - careers, families, relocations - but the spark and deep friendship between them never faded. When Justin reached out years later with deeply personal songs, it reignited a creative fire...and Silver Acoustics was born

What followed was more than just a reunion - it was a reconnection with the sound, spirit, and friendships that first inspired them. With Dale's production magic and the shared passion of four lifelong friends, their bond helped bring life to Justin's songs. Together, Silver Acoustics channels decades of friendship, musical exploration, and life experience into a sound that feels both intimate and timeless. Their music is a celebration of connection - between friends, memories, listeners and a thrilling reminder that true creativity only gets better with time.

This is more than a comeback; it's a creative explosion fueled by shared dreams, deep roots, and an unstoppable passion for music. Silver Acoustics invites you to join them on a journey full of nostalgia, emotion, energy, and unforgettable songs that linger long after the last note fades.

The Band Members:

Justin Watts

Justin, born in the late '60s, has always had a profound passion for singing and dancing. His musical journey took a significant turn in the late '80s when he connected with talented musicians Dale Harris, Rob Hermans, and Ashley Patterson. Their shared love for music sparked lifelong friendships, each of which played a pivotal role in shaping Justin's sound and career.

Inspired by the musical talents of his friends, Justin picked up the guitar to accompany his love for singing, allowing him to express the songs he cherished. Over time, and influenced by a broad range of musical genres, Justin's passion evolved into the creation of Silver Acoustics.

With an innate ability to blend heartfelt vocals and acoustic melodies, Justin's music tells intimate stories of love, loss, reflection, and personal growth. The lyrics are deeply personal, drawing from his own experiences as well as the enduring bonds he shares with his musical companions. Through Silver Acoustics, Justin creates a sound that resonates with listeners, capturing the universal journeys of hope and nostalgia, woven into every note.

Dale's musical journey began early, guided by his father's teachings on the guitar from the age of four. By seven, he was already performing in public, setting the stage for a lifelong dedication to music. With a deep-rooted foundation in classical guitar, lute, and musicology, his formal training shaped a musician of rare versatility and depth.

Over the years, Dale's exceptional talent has led to notable performances, including collaborations with Sir Cliff Richard and appearances before distinguished audiences such as the British Royal Family and the Archbishop of Canterbury. These experiences have only added to his reputation as a sought-after and respected musician.

Today, Dale brings that rich musical heritage to his electric guitar work, blending classical precision with expressive flair. His presence within Silver Acoustics adds a vibrant edge, elevating each performance with the depth of a lifetime spent mastering his craft.

Rob Hermans

Rob, born in the mid-sixties in Den Haag, Netherlands, grew up in a home where music was ever-present. With musically gifted parents, his childhood was filled with the sound of records spinning and voices singing in harmony. He began his musical journey playing the recorder and flute, continuing formal lessons into his teens. But a desire to sing as well as play eventually led him to explore the guitar.

Early musical influences ranged from the melodic storytelling of The Beatles, ABBA, Elton John, and Gilbert O'Sullivan, to the powerful sounds of Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, and Led Zeppelin. These artists helped shape his evolving taste and musical identity.

Rob's path to the bass guitar was entirely self-taught, first stepping into the role with the folk/rock band Spacegoats, an experience that revealed his deep connection to 'the low end'. Over the years, he played with various cover bands, honing his skills but finding limited room for creative expression. That changed with this project, where the long-standing friendships and musical energy of Justin, Dale, and Ashley sparked a renewed sense of inspiration and originality.

Rob credits much of his musical growth to those around him, particularly Dale, whom he affectionately says 'taught him everything he knows'.

Ashley, born in Aberdeen in the mid-1960s, discovered his passion for music in the most unexpected of places, a school friends house in Glasgow, where an old drum kit sat there, waiting to be played. Whilst others were drawn to the flash of guitar solos or the thrum of the bass, it was the drum kit, shiny, complex, and unapologetically loud, that captured his attention. Struck by its power and presence, something inside him lit up. That spontaneous encounter marked the beginning of a lifelong love. Determined to chase that spark, he took on a weekend job, saved every penny, and soon purchased that very same friends kit, a sunburst orange Pearl 'Maxwin'. He set it up in the attic of his family home and began teaching himself by playing along to his rock idols: AC/DC, Blue Oyster Cult, and Rush - the band that would ultimately become his deepest musical influence.

A move to SouthWest London in the early '80s became a turning point. It was there that Ashley met Rob, Dale, and Justin - three like-minded musicians whose shared passion sparked not only creative collaborations, but enduring friendships. Together, over the coming years they formed bands, wrote songs, and laid the early foundations of a musical bond that would stand the test of time.
